Wedding Planning: What to Read

Here we are, smack dab in the middle of engagement season. With Valentine's Day fast approaching, more and more happy couples will be joining the ranks of newly engaged.

There are so many great resources out there to help with wedding planning, idea gathering and just life in general that it can sometimes feel overwhelming. Here are a few of the best resources I've found to help you out:

Offbeat Bride: If you're looking for a space to find unique ideas, share experiences, or just generally connect with people going through the wedding planning process, OBB is for you. They are open to all levels of "Offbeat" from traditional to everything but. There is truly something for everyone, and their blog posts and forums are full of amazing ideas.

A Practical Wedding: Both the website and the book are amazing resources. The Advice section of the website is full of clear and concise tips to help you make your day awesome. The book also helps dispel those myths of things you "need" to have. It is a refreshing sanity check that reminds you to have the day that means the most to you as a couple, not anyone else.

The Five Love Languages: This book is a lot about psychology and very little about weddings. It can be fun to take some time away from planning to learn a little bit about your love language and that of your partner. It's important to remember what this day is about that you're spending all this time and effort planning, it can be nice to spend some time investing in your relationship while in the whirlwind of planning.

Remember, stay true to yourself and your partner & your day will be perfect!
