About knieriem designs

(Pronunciation: Canary-um)

It all started with a little girl at the foot of her grandmother's sewing machine.

Just like the generations of Knieriem women before her, she watched as her grandmother turned lengths of fabric into beautiful dresses. Following in the family tradition, that little girl asked her grandmother to show her how she could learn to do the same.

She spent her childhood creating her own clothing. When it came time to choose a profession, she knew without question that fashion was the right choice for her.

Knieriem Designs is about making unique, one of a kind pieces for every occasion, focusing on intimate details, luxurious fabrics and elegant designs.

Christina Pannone

Clothing Designer

Christina (née Knieriem) Pannone comes from a long line of creative and talented women. As it was in many families, the art of sewing was passed down through the generations. One day she too found herself with a needle and thread and as many colorful scraps of Grandma's fabric as she could sew. What began as a childhood hobby blossomed into a lifelong passion, made all the more special by the family she shared it with.

She completed her Bachelor's of Science in Fashion Design studying at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and abroad in Paris, France. She currently lives and works in Alexandria, Virginia with her husband and their dog, Coco.

Her company, Knieriem Designs, focuses on creating unique and elegant pieces for weddings and special occasions. By incorporating intimate details and exacting design, Knieriem Designs provides pieces that have a personalized, handmade feel.

Each piece is handmade and unique, custom orders are even further personalized with additional touches and unique details to make a piece completely your own. She believes that any garment--from wedding gowns to dressing gowns--should feel elegant and special.
